Praise and Worship EventFebruary 2, 2008About50ntercessors gathered at Congregación León de Judá for our second time of prayer. As at the meeting on November 8, repentance, calls for mercy, declarations and renewed hope were the main themes. Following is a summary of the prayers, which were interspersed with song: "Thank you, Lord, for this church. You are the royal Lion. The Lion has roared: who does not fear? "50 million babies have died since Roe v. Wade was made the law of the land. Jezebel is strengthening herself with this blood. "When will the Church start preaching from the pulpit? The judgment is on the Church. 'My hard word comes against you.' The Lord is building a spirit of war. You are the Light of the world. We receive Your kingdom authority, Your gentle authority to love people into Your Kingdom. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. Come and rule in New England. Come in majesty. You are our Righteous Judge. Thank You for the work You are about to do in the courts. We thank You that we do not have to fight flesh and blood. We lift up the people who want to change Your culture. We love them and we need to stand for Your righteousness. We thank you that we do not have to fight flesh and blood. We do not fight with the weapons that the world uses. "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (2 Cor. 10:5)." "Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time (Rev. 12:10-12)." We pronounce what God has promised. We remind You, Lord, of Your promises. Worship neutralizes everything that the devil throws at us. The Avenger is stilled. This is not our battle, Lord. It is Yours. We cast all our anxieties on You. We know You care for us. (See 1 Peter 5:7.) "Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall (Ps. 55:22)." We know what this battle looks like in the natural. Open our eyes to what it looks like in the supernatural. We know You have promised us victory. "It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them (Ps.44:3)." Lord, we are not alone here in Massachusetts. The Body of Christ is crying out to You from all over the world! A fall is taking place, and foundations are being set in place. Your gifts are being released. We believe for signs and wonders. We believe for so many, many souls that will be harvested. We believe that the sadness, the discouragement, the loneliness, dark nights and doubts of Your saints will work to fertilize New England and to bring revival. We take off the garments of despair and put on hope. We call upon the covenants You have made, Lord, with Your people through the ages. We call upon those Scriptures, in the halls of government, schools, courts of law, in schools of higher education. Open those wells. We pray for a spirit that will not waver. We thank you for warriors who have kept the flame alive. Satan only exists because You allow him. We cut off his power. Increase the boldness of Your servants. Give us dreams and visions. Open our eyes so that we see in the spirit realm. Give us a fresh anointing this morning. The plot is so thick and yet the ending will be so glorious. You have all the pieces of this drama. The Lord says, "I have not forgotten You. I have not abandoned you. You have been hidden under the shelter of My wings. I could not work until now. I have been breaking you. It is coming." Before He pours out His Spirit, He will refresh us. We've been so weary. Let us receive that refreshing. Amen and amen. Office Volunteers Invite 200 to New England Alliance EventHeartfelt thanks to the volunteers who agreed to phone 200 leaders in Covenant and New England Alliance for the March 27 meeting in Fitchburg MA at Horizon Christian Fellowship:
Persistence and patience are key for this job. Placing two calls per person is normal, and even then the rate of returned calls is low. Sometimes the initial e-mail, with all the particulars, has been buried and is resent. Whether or not every leader can attend the upcoming meeting, they are made aware of the activities of the organization they support, and may be able to attend a future meeting. Sometimes important additional information is exchanged: for example about involvement in a different event. New England Alliance MeetingMarch 27, 2008Thirty five leaders from the New England Alliance and North [Worcester] County Pastors' Prayer Team met at Horizon Christian Fellowship in Fitchburg MA for fellowship and prayer. The additional discussion was centered around their common cause in prayer and action to bring revival to the Church and transformation to the region. Read about the vision of the New England Alliance. North [Worcester] County Pastors' Prayer Team started in the late 90’s. George Small, senior pastor at Horizon, explained that the group started with a few regular prayer partners. As the Lord promised, the group expanded. "Through prayer, we established bonds of trust and friendship. When same-sex 'marriage' threatened the family, we decided to cry out to God. In 3-1/2 weeks we rented the Fitchburg Civic Center. Sky Angel TV covered the event. The Worcester Telegram covered it. 5000 viewed it on the South Shore. The event changed the region. We’ve had other large prayer since, such as the Global Day of Prayer last year at the Royal Trade Center in Fitchburg." Volunteers clean up and "normalize" our 2900-person databaseAs Covenant for New England and the New England Alliance grow, so do the databases. Often information is collected on handwritten sheets at meetings. Sometimes information is missing. Often it becomes outdated as people move or change e-mail addresses. As Covenant's administrator, I had seven databases, from the e-mail list to various leaders' and volunteers' lists. Keeping the information current is important if we want to link the Body of Christ, but updating databases is a time-consuming task. Al Shimer and one other volunteer took on the task of "normalizing" the databases. It took 70 hours to enter and check the information in a master database with flags. It will take even more time combine it with additional data in a relational database. We are deeply endebted to these two individuals for their detail-oriented and sacrificial work. |
